Janice Kim: favorite image

This is a photo I took at a beach in Cancun when I went on a mission trip to Mexico. The four figures sitting near the little hut are my friends, and we were all up at 6am to see the sunrise.
I really love this image because it takes me back to the moment I took the picture. I remember being in awe of the beautiful sunrise and the ocean, and feeling so glad that I was able to share the moment with my friends. This beach also is very significant to me, because I was baptised there. Overall, I guess the primary reason I like this image is because of its personal relevance to me. :)

I really like the image of the girl. I agree with everything you said. Its almost as if the expression on her face makes her seem at least 10 years more mature than she is, and the emotion that comes through in her glance is strong and intense, you just want to stare back. The black and white of the photo really helps to increase the intensity of her expression as well, which is a cool dynamic between the message and the technique.
