Meleha Ahmad #3: Energy in Art

This is a pen and ink piece called “Crowley” by a small time artist named Andrew Mariano. I came across it on the internet under “energy in art.” Mariano believes that psychedelic art such as this piece can be used in psychotherapy. This presents art in a new light perhaps, as not only as soothing and peaceful, but also a piece of energy that can act as a healer. The above piece, with its soft contours and waves feels almost alive; in fact you can almost feel the energy in it. I believe that when an artist paints or draws, in fact, the energy that goes into its creation is communicated to its viewers. This is what makes art so powerful and effective to its viewers.
