02 - Asia Del Bonis: Peace Art Cambodia

Art can be a diversion. The benches and the elephant were made out of weapons confiscated in post-war Cambodia. Originally, those weapons would be destroyed. With this alternative, the guns, which bring back memories of war, have a new meaning. They are used as the basis of sculptures, both practical and unique. Not only do the sculptors develop metal working art skills, but they promote recycling and make the assertion that peace is possible.
