Escher is one of my favorite artists because he uses repetition of seemingly simple designs to create very complex and twisted images (somewhat like the Dali image I posted of Galatea of the Spheres). Art should be creative and occasionally be used to create images that normally would not be possible. Escher embodies these in creating a style of art in which he uses illusion.
