Meleha Ahmad #1: Hundertwasser

I think art challenges you to question the norms that society, so stealthily, instills in you. It forces you to a more primitive state of mind, untainted by what is and what is not “normal” or “physically possible.” It begs you to ask the question: why not? Why can’t the world be a colorful place like the one shown in Hundertwasser’s painting, “The 30 Day Fax Picture.” Why can’t a man be larger than a building? Why can’t he have two (super-imposed) heads? Why can’t trees grow on top of buildings? Art enables you to create a world in which these questions don’t need to have scientific answers; where anything is probable.
